The Primary classrooms are designed to meet the ever changing needs of the three to six year old child.
Beauty and order play important roles in creating the child size environment which is carefully designed to encourage curiosity and a love for learning.
The Montessori environment and philosophy encourage internal discipline allowing the child to set own learning pace to internalize information.
Learning is reinforced internally through the child’s own repetition of activity, internal feelings of success repetition. Self-teaching Montessori materials allow the child to formulate concepts.
The multi-age classrooms encourages children to teach, collaborate, and help each other. Children in the classroom learn to maneuver about with confidence, exploring concepts in arithmetic, reading and writing, geography, science, social studies, nature and much more.
Children are taught methods to peacefully problem solve, which can be used through their adult lives. Taking care of nature is an integral part of the curriculum.
Feeding caterpillars, hatching butterflies and then letting them go, picking acorns, watching and learning about ant lions, taking care of the garden, just to mention a few! The Kindergartners graduate with excellent academics and a love for peace and lifelong learning.
